FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

The Departments of Mathematics of the Greifswald, Berlin and Muenster Univer-
sity will organize a conference on

"Dirac operators, index theorems and numerical invariants of manifolds"

at the Forsthaus Langenberg, Bansin, island of Usedom, North-East Germany,
Baltic Sea shore, March 7-13, 1999.
Topics: All relations between differential operators, geometry and topology of
manifolds.
There will be short series of 1-3 hours and for a limited number of participants
will be the possibility to present their own results.
The Forsthaus Langenberg is is located in a quite beautiful inspiring nature in
a forest near to the sea shore. It provides accomodation, full board, fitness
facilities.
